Northlands is recruiting for the role of Director, Sales. As a member of the leadership team at Northlands, the Director of Sales will be responsible for driving all sales functions and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, developing distribution channels, building strategic business relationships, and providing vision for all EXPO Centre as well as site-wide sales strategies and their execution. They will lead a group of sales professionals in executing an aggressive sales strategy that will foster new business connections, strengthen key relationships, and exceed sales targets set for the organization. The Director of Sales will use their experience, existing connections and creative energy to lead the team ensuring the EXPO Centre and Northlands has high visibility within the industry and drives new business opportunities locally, regionally, and internationally.
In addition, the Director of Sales will have oversight for the Event Delivery Team consisting of five Client Services Managers. This team is responsible for all client planning and event execution. The EXPO Centre annually hosts over 350 events with rental and food and beverage budgets over $15 Million.
Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, this is a hands-on leadership role that requires a seasoned sales leader that sets and achieves ambitious targets and can develop a team focused on increasing sales and driving revenues all while keeping community relations and civic promotion top of mind. This role will be responsible for establishing, coordinating, and managing these functions and making sound decisions in line with Northlands' philosophy, and as such, this position requires enthusiasm, ingenuity, and a pragmatic individual.
Skills and Experience
Your sales experience includes at least 10 years of direct work in a senior management capacity, complemented by a post-secondary education in sales or business. You bring with you an extensive portfolio that features all aspects of sales, including the ability to forecast and plan for continuous revenue growth; spearhead business development initiatives; and inspire and mentor and a diverse sales team. Energetic and enthusiastic, you're results driven and committed to delivering an exceptional guest experience.
